    Harlington Upper School

Founded on three core principles, quality through opportunity, respect for all and know thyself, Harlington Upper School works to encourage life-long learning and achieve the highest possible levels of success.

Located in Bedfordshire, this high achieving school boasts specialist Science College status, with 150 staff and 1400 pupils aged between 13 and 18.

In a move to increase the speed of IT deployment and improve service delivery, Harlington Upper School chose to adopt a pic managed service solution from acs.

Moira Boyle, Business Manager - Harlington Upper School

acs’s Gold partner status with Microsoft and HP was key in our decision. They’ve proven they can deliver projects on time with minimal disruption and we have benefited from access to their experience and technical knowledge."

    Moira Boyle, Business Manager

To ensure a smooth transition of day-to-day operations, existing technical resources were transferred to acs by TUPE. An IT technician remained on-site on a full time basis to provide direct support to the school.

Following a comprehensive audit of the existing infrastructure, acs implemented a number of IT projects, such as building on a prior VMware installation and deploying thin clients.

Utilising the benefits of pic, acs continues to deliver pro-active support and managed anti-virus/anti-spam services, while holding ongoing consultations with teachers to drive IT strategies forward and develop a 3 year technology plan.
